AU-EU Innovation Festival

Following on from the event in Nairobi in November, ENRICH in Africa is working with the European Commission, African Union, Republic of South Africa, and EU Delegation to South Africa, to deliver the AU-EU Innovation Festival takes place on 15th June 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa, offering the chance for European and African startups to pitch their innovations to new potential partners, funders and clients. This same event will feature the final event of our Open Innovation Challenges, which will comprise the finalist pitching session culminating in an award ceremony dinner where our corporate partners- Paris Saint Germain, United.b, Sanofi, EDF, and Sothema- will reveal the overall winners.

More about the event: The AU-EU Innovation Festival will feature pitching sessions and exhibitions of innovations from both Africa and Europe (including the Innovation Fair, with projects’ roll-ups, booths, and real-life demonstrations). This first edition will focus on discussions on success stories and bottlenecks on the pathways of women- and youth-led innovations.

The event will be hosted by the European Union, the African Union, and the Republic of South Africa, and will be attended by representatives from the public sector, NGOs and Civil Society, investors, corporations, and innovation actors from across Africa and Europe.
