Within the framework of the ENRICH in Africa programme, a one-week learning expedition to Porto, Portugal will be offered. Learning expeditions are an essential part of ENRICH in Africa as they bring together two continents under one universal agenda.

Porto is the second largest city in Portugal and possesses a vibrant entrepreneurial landscape. Participants will be able to understand the local innovation ecosystem, explore cooperation opportunities between Europe and Africa and promote knowledge transfer.
Specific Objectives
Explore alternative markets including understanding the local support infrastructures and meeting local innovators, investors, researchers and corporates;
Foster cooperation between European and African innovators, incubators and accelerators.
Promote knowledge transfer;
Raise the participants’ awareness of the existing mechanisms in Portugal that can facilitate
entry in the European Market.
Who Should Attend
This mission has a specific focus on African stakeholders pertaining to Startups, SMEs, Incubators, Accelerators, Universities, Investors, Business Angels and Venture Capital Organisations with a strong interest in Europe. European stakeholders with a strong interest in expanding into Africa are also welcome to participate.

About the Learning Expedition in Porto
Join us in a immersive week-long learning expedition in Porto. Participants will be able to acquire a better understanding of the local market and innovation ecosystem and promote cooperation avenues with multiple organisations in Portugal via the following activities:
Attend FIN 2023, a major multisector and global networking event in Portugal aimed at organisations that want to broaden their network and business connections. During this two-day event, an in-depth presentation of the ENRICH in Africa project will occur.
Explore Porto’s innovative and entrepreneurial landscape through visits and sessions to organizations with a strong connection to Innovation, Entrepreneurship, R&I and other similar areas.
Benefit from a knowledge enriching session, at SPI – Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação, on the African landscape and how projects such as ENRICH in Africa can generate synergies with Europe.
